AIC's philosophy is to teach the fundamentals first. Like any stable building it is important to build on a strong foundation. We encourage students to express and explore their creativity while developing individual skills. The two-year Associate Degree program requires seven General Education courses taught by instructors holding Master’s degrees in their area of course work. (recruited from local universities) GE courses require three hours additional once a week. Example - Courses include: Speech Communication, Creative Writing, Art History and Business courses. In 1979, AIC received accreditation and in 1983 became a charter member of The International Council of Design Schools (ICDS). The college has always maintained a progressive image and continues that policy into the future. AIC has limited enrollment and is selective when recruiting new students. At AIC students study the past, practice the present and explore the future! AIC's purpose or objective is to offer talented students a career oriented program that will provide them the opportunity to acquire entry-level positions in the field of Graphic Design, Computer Graphics and Desktop Publishing. AIC is a member of the International Council of Design Schools, an organization devoted to the preservation of: quality education, ethical business practices and truthful promotion; serving independently owned art colleges throughout the world. |
